History

1931:
The Company is founded  by Alfred Lamarthe
The Company specialises in accessories for smokers and small luxury leather goods.

1946:
First shop opened in Paris. The Company launches into top-of-the-range leather goods.

In the 70s:
Under the guidance of Didier Lhostis, inventor of many accessory patents, the Company becomes one of the top French brands in traditional leather goods and adopts the unicorn as the brand symbol.

1982 and 1986:
The Company opens two shops in Paris, Rue Daunou and Rue St Honoré. Its collections are also displayed in large Paris stores.
In order to meet demand from its foreign clientele, the Company moves onto the international scene.

1990:
The André Group absorbs the Company and sets up in Asia (opening shops in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Osaka)
The Paris workshops are transferred to Chambéry.

1996:
The André Group sells the brand name to the Italian Finduck Group, owner of the "Mandarina Duck" brand name.

2000:
Mario Gardini takes over management of the Company
A new Lamarthe shop is opened in Marne la Vallée in November.

2004:
Via the holding company Copernico in which he is a shareholder, Mario Gardini buys the Company and its design office, owner of the "Lamarthe" brand name.
January sees the opening of the Spanish subsidiary and two franchised shops (Barcelona and Valencia).
In October, the Company secures its own production facility and creates a subsidiary in Romania : Oxirom.

2006:
Lamarthe floats on the Paris Euronext Alternext market.
